10:10. Cable(s) of the emergency brake

Replacement

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove a cover at the basis of the emergency brake and turn off an adjusting nut of a cable (nuts of the left and right cables are noted), which also fixes a cable to the lever of the emergency brake. There are two cables – on one on each back wheel, and a nut for each cable. On some cars for access to nuts it is necessary to remove the central section (tray).
2. Lift a back part of the car and establish on supports.
3. Remove the brake drum, or a brake disk.
4. On the cars equipped with back drum brakes disconnect a cable of the emergency brake from the lever of a back block. On cars with back disk brakes remove brake shoes and the drive of blocks (see subsection 10.4), then disconnect a cable of the emergency brake from the drive.
5. To disconnect a cable from the drive on back brakes of a diskova give on yourself external эксентрик and remove a pin which fixes a cable to the internal clown, remove internal эксентрик.
6. On the cars equipped with back drum brakes take a cable, its cover from a reverse side of a board of a brake, then get a cable cover from brackets on the suspension bracket lever (to straighten it and to facilitate drawing of a new cable). On cars with back disk brakes it is not obligatory to take a cable cover from a brake board, it is enough to get of it from brackets on the lever of a back suspension bracket.
7. Extend a cable from a cover from a wheel.
8. Grease a new cable with jellied lubricant and enter it into a cover. Stretch a cable through a cover to the block drive lever.
9. Establish a cover in a brake board, and attach a cable tip to the block drive lever (back drum brakes) or to the eccentric sliding device (back disk brakes). Be convinced after accession on a cable there are no bent sites.
10. Fix a cable cover in brackets on the lever of a back suspension bracket.
11. On the cars equipped with back drum brakes establish brake shoes and a drum. On cars with back disk brakes establish blocks of the emergency brake and the eccentric sliding device of blocks, and also a back disk of a brake.
12. Lower the car and wrap an adjusting nut on a tip of a cable of the emergency brake. Adjust a cable of the emergency brake and establish a dustproof cover.
